Antonia Pozzi

Preghiera alla poesia

Oh, tu bene mi pesi
l’anima, poesia:
tu sai se io manco e mi perdo,
tu che allora ti neghi
e taci.
Poesia, mi confesso con te
che sei la mia voce profonda:
tu lo sai,
tu lo sai che ho tradito,
ho camminato sul prato d’oro
che fu mio cuore,
ho rotto l’erba,
rovinata la terra –
poesia – quella terra
dove tu mi dicesti il più dolce
di tutti i tuoi canti,
dove un mattino per la prima volta
vidi volar nel sereno l’allodola
e con gli occhi cercai di salire –
Poesia, poesia che rimani
il mio profondo rimorso,
oh aiutami tu a ritrovare
il mio alto paese abbandonato –
Poesia che ti doni soltanto
a chi con occhi di pianto
si cerca –
oh rifammi tu degna di te,
poesia che mi guardi.

ANTONIA POZZI (Milano 1912-1938)

Oración a la poesía

El alma, poesía.
Sabes que si falto y me pierdo,
Tú que entonces te niegas
y callas
.
Poesía, me confieso contigo
Que eres mi voz profunda
Tu lo sabes,
Tú lo sabes que te he traicionado,
He caminado por el prado de oro,
Que fue mi corazón,
He roto la hierba,
Arruinado la tierra-
Poesía- aquella tierra
Donde tú me dijiste el más dulce
De todos tus cantos,
Donde una mañana por primera vez
Ví volar en el
Y con los ojos intentaste subir-
Poesía, poesía che permanece
Mi más profundo remordimiento,
Oh, ayúdame a reencontrar
Mi alto país abandonado-
Poesía que te des solo
A quién con ojos de llanto
Si busca-
Oh , vuelve a hacerme digan de ti
Poesía que me miras.

Prayer to Poetry

Oh, you truly burden
my soul, poetry:
you know if I’m failing and lost,
you who then deny yourself
and are silent.
Poetry, I confess to you who are my
deep-down voice:
you know it,
you know I’ve betrayed,
have walked on the field of gold
that was my heart,
I’ve snapped the grass,
have ruined the ground –
poetry – that ground
where you told me the sweetest
of all your songs,
where one morning for the first time
I saw the lark fly in the clear
and with my eyes I tried to climb –
Poetry, poetry, you that remain
my deep down remorse,
oh help me, you, to rediscover
my high abandoned country –
Poetry you that give yourself only
to those who with lamenting eyes
search for themselves –
oh remake me worthy of you,
poetry watching over me.
